Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has officially launched an upgraded agricultural welfare portal designed to consolidate multiple federal farming schemes into a single digital entry point, according to reporting by The Hindu — National.
The revamped platform functions as a single-window gateway intended to streamline how agricultural beneficiaries access government assistance. By unifying dispersed administrative systems, the portal aims to make public support mechanisms more accessible and transparent for farmers across the country.
Consolidation of Major Schemes
Under the upgraded framework, the platform brings together several flagship initiatives administered by the central government. Key among these are the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN), which provides income support to landholding farmer families, and the digital public infrastructure project AgriStack.
The system also integrates the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, the national crop insurance scheme designed to cushion cultivators against yield losses caused by non-preventable natural risks. Bringing these services under a single digital roof allows farmers to track enrollments, subsidies, and policy protections without navigating separate portals.
Digital Delivery for Farmers
The initiative forms part of the government's ongoing effort to digitize agricultural governance and eliminate bureaucratic friction in service delivery. Through the centralized gateway, users can interface directly with welfare programs, reducing delays and paperwork traditionally associated with managing multiple agricultural entitlements.
By leveraging AgriStack alongside direct benefit transfer frameworks like PM-KISAN, the upgraded portal represents a push toward integrated, verifiable data systems to ensure targeted and timely assistance to India's farming sector.
