Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader K. Kavitha has accused the Congress-led state government of neglecting the struggles of farmers dealing with significant agricultural losses, according to reporting by The Hindu — National.
Kavitha called on Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy to intervene without delay to protect the interests of the farming community amid mounting distress across rural areas.
Unassessed Crop Damage
The criticism comes amid reports of unaddressed agricultural damage in local farming communities. Kavitha alleged that authorities have completely overlooked affected areas, noting that no government official had visited the village to assess the extent of the crop damage.
Farmers dealing with seasonal hardships rely heavily on administrative assessments to document field losses and access state relief mechanisms. According to the reporting, the absence of revenue and agriculture department representatives on the ground has left growers without an official record of their damaged yields.
Demands for State Intervention
Directing her appeal to the highest level of the state administration, Kavitha urged Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to initiate immediate measures aimed at shielding cultivators from financial ruin. She maintained that the state administration has failed to demonstrate adequate responsiveness to agricultural distress.
The opposition has continued to focus on agrarian challenges under the Congress administration, demanding that government machinery actively survey impacted tracts and extend timely assistance to affected rural households.
