Info Edge founder and vice chairman Sanjeev Bikhchandani will become the company’s executive vice chairman, managing director and group CEO from December 3, 2026, succeeding Hitesh Oberoi. Oberoi will leave the full-time executive role at the close of business on December 2 after nearly 27 years with the Naukri.com parent, but will remain associated with the company as a non-executive, non-independent director subject to shareholder approval.
The leadership change was announced alongside Info Edge’s second-quarter FY27 results. The company reported consolidated net profit of ₹649.8 crore, up 87% from ₹347.5 crore a year earlier, while revenue from operations increased 12.2% year on year to ₹903.9 crore.
A planned change at the Naukri parent
Info Edge said Oberoi decided to step down to devote more time to education, entrepreneurship, institution building, investing and philanthropy, as well as his family. His board role will allow him to remain connected to the company after relinquishing day-to-day executive responsibilities.
Bikhchandani, who founded Info Edge, will assume operational leadership as executive vice chairman, MD and group CEO. The transition takes effect on December 3, one day after Oberoi’s executive tenure ends, according to the company’s leadership announcement.
"The transition keeps the company’s founder at the centre of operations while retaining Oberoi’s experience on the board."
What the results show
The management transition comes as Info Edge reports stronger profitability and revenue growth. Consolidated net profit rose 32.6% from the previous quarter’s ₹490.1 crore, while other income climbed 164.8% year on year to ₹428.4 crore from ₹161.8 crore.
The company’s operating performance was more measured than the headline profit increase. Revenue from operations grew 2.6% sequentially to ₹903.9 crore, indicating that the sharp rise in net profit was also influenced by the increase in other income.

Why the transition matters
Info Edge owns and operates Naukri.com and has interests across internet businesses, making the CEO change relevant to India’s digital employment and consumer-services sectors. Bikhchandani’s return to executive control places the founder directly in charge of strategy at a time when the company is reporting growth in both revenue and profit.
Oberoi’s continued board association provides some leadership continuity, but the change still marks a clear shift in day-to-day management. Investors will likely focus on how the new structure affects capital allocation, the company’s internet ventures and the pace of expansion across its core businesses.
The next procedural steps
The immediate timetable is set: Oberoi’s executive role ends at the close of business on December 2, and Bikhchandani assumes his new responsibilities on December 3, 2026. Info Edge’s proposal to retain Oberoi as a non-executive, non-independent director remains subject to shareholder approval.
The company’s Q2 FY27 results provide the financial backdrop for the handover. With revenue from operations at ₹903.9 crore and net profit at ₹649.8 crore, the incoming leadership will take charge from a position of reported year-on-year growth, while the board and shareholders complete the required governance process.
