PVR INOX Pictures has confirmed that the critically acclaimed kaiju blockbuster *Godzilla Minus One* (referred to in local distribution logs as *Godzilla Minus Zero*) will receive a theatrical rollout in India, but local screen allocation constraints are pushing its arrival deeper into November.
While trade trackers originally anticipated a day-and-date release on November 6 alongside other international territories, theatrical exhibition arrangements for domestic epic *Ramayana* have disrupted that schedule, according to trade reports verified by Bollywood Hungama.

Screen Sharing and IMAX Scheduling Pressures
On October 27, PVR INOX Pictures shared an official teaser poster bearing the tag "Filmed for IMAX" and a broader release window of "Only in theatres this November." However, exhibition partners are managing tight premium-format auditorium availability across major metropolitan hubs.
According to exhibition insiders, *Ramayana*, which bows across Indian theatres on November 5, secured a strict two-week exclusivity window across domestic IMAX auditoriums. Because *Godzilla* was formatted specifically for large-format projection, distributors prefer not to debut the film without securing premium ticket inventory.
"Godzilla is a film made for IMAX. So is Ramayana. Ramayana is a local film and has a two-week exclusivity window on IMAX screens in India," a theatrical trade source explained to trade reporters. Consequently, exhibition planners are evaluating whether to delay the rollout until November 20—or explore a compromised midweek debut around November 13.
Theatrical Timelines at a Glance
| Feature Film | Expected Indian Premiere | Primary Formats | Exclusivity Terms |

| *Ramayana* | November 5 | Standard, 3D, IMAX | Two-week domestic IMAX exclusivity |
| *Godzilla Minus One* | November 13 or November 20 (Tentative) | 2D, Standard, IMAX | Limited showcasing (approx. 1 show/day on IMAX) |
| *Initial Godzilla Target* | November 6 | Standard, IMAX | Deferred to resolve auditorium overlap |
Limited Screen Allotments for Kaiju Fans
Last month, Kamal Gianchandani, Chief Business Planning & Strategy at PVR INOX Limited and CEO of PVR INOX Pictures Limited, confirmed that the distribution wing intended to bring the award-winning feature to domestic audiences following persistent public demand.
However, even after the picture secures screen space in late November, IMAX showings will likely remain restricted. Cinema trade analysts expect most multiscreen properties to allot only a single daily IMAX showtime to the foreign creature feature, reserving prime evening time slots for domestic tentpoles.
Distributors are expected to issue final release dates and open advance bookings once the exact allotment across multiplex chains is formalized.
