NEW DELHI — Former Indian cricketer Ramesh Powar has been appointed to the Men’s Selection Committee, while former national spinner Pragyan Ojha will serve as the chairman of the panel, according to reporting by Accredited Wire Reports.
Powar's induction and Ojha's elevation place two former international spinners in central decision-making positions for the squad's future selections.
Leadership Shift in Selection Setup
Under the reconstituted setup, Ojha steps into the primary leadership role to oversee the selection process. The panel is responsible for evaluating domestic and international talent, monitoring player workloads, and choosing squads across multiple formats for upcoming series and tournaments.
Ojha, who represented India across test, one-day international, and Twenty20 formats during his playing career, brings extensive domestic and international experience to the position of panel chairman.
Powar Joins the National Panel
Powar's appointment to the Men's Selection Committee adds another seasoned figure to the administrative core. Before this appointment, Powar featured as an off-spinner for the national team and subsequently held several coaching and support positions across domestic and national setups.
Further logistical details regarding the broader committee membership and the timeline for upcoming selection meetings are expected to follow as the panel begins its administrative duties under Ojha's direction, according to the wire dispatches.
