A passenger bus bound for Kashmir was targeted in Haryana, where attackers accosted the driver before a second vehicle faced a similar assault in neighbouring Punjab, according to wire reporting from regional outlets.
During the confrontation in Haryana, the vehicle's driver was told, "Won't allow terrorists here," as assailants intercepted the transport. The incident in Haryana was quickly followed by another attack near Ludhiana in Punjab, where a Delhi-Srinagar bus was pelted with stones, marking consecutive disruptions along the transit route to the Kashmir Valley.
Incidents Across Haryana and Punjab
The initial attack occurred in Haryana, with reports identifying Karnal as the site of the confrontation. The following day, another Kashmir-bound bus operating between Delhi and Srinagar was targeted with stones in the Ludhiana area of Punjab, according to reporting compiled from accredited wire services including The Indian Express, The Times of India, and NDTV.
The consecutive assaults have raised concerns regarding the safety of inter-state commercial transport connecting national transit hubs to Jammu and Kashmir. The vehicles were carrying passengers along major transit corridors when the confrontations took place.
Police Response and Arrests
Law enforcement authorities moved to intervene following the violence on the highway. Police in Haryana detained two individuals in connection with the alleged attack on the Srinagar-bound bus, according to reporting by The Hindu.
Investigators have focused on securing transit routes between the northern states to prevent further interference with public and commercial transport. Security measures along the corridor remain under review following the stone-throwing and verbal confrontations reported across both state jurisdictions.
