A deadly ballistic missile strike carried out by Houthi forces on a military training camp in Shabwa province has left at least 20 coalition fighters dead, according to military officials cited in reporting by Times of India — Top Stories. The attack also resulted in more than two dozen troops sustaining injuries.
Escalating Clashes in Shabwa and Taiz
The missile strike directly hit the training facility as forces gathered in the southern province. Military officials reported that emergency medical personnel treated more than two dozen wounded troops following the blast, with several casualties transported to regional medical centers for treatment.
Despite the severe casualties sustained in Shabwa, Yemeni government forces initiated counter-operations elsewhere in the country. Military personnel reported recapturing territory in the neighboring Taiz governorate shortly after the strike occurred. However, Houthi forces have continued to press their offensive across multiple frontlines, sustaining intense pressure against opposing units in the region.
Civilian Casualties in Saada
The violence extended beyond Shabwa and Taiz during the same period. In a separate incident, an airstrike launched by the coalition killed nine people in the northern province of Saada. According to reports from the area, the casualties resulting from the aerial strike included women and children.
The exchange of ballistic attacks and aerial bombardments reflects sustained hostilities as both Houthi fighters and coalition-backed Yemeni forces contest key territories across the country.
