Actor Amanda Seyfried has transformed her 1930s Catskills farm into a nonprofit animal rescue sanctuary, creating a dedicated haven for rescued animals while maintaining a cozy family residence, according to reporting by Times of India — Top Stories.
The initiative brings formal rescue operations directly to the historic rural property, which now provides shelter and care to a variety of animals, including horses and dogs.
Property Rejuvenation in the Catskills
The revitalization of the estate involved significant updates to its existing historic structures. Seyfried expanded the main 1930s farmhouse to accommodate her family alongside the expanding rescue mission on the grounds.
In addition to enlarging the primary residence, the project reimagined the estate's outbuildings. A classic barn on the grounds was completely transformed into a functional guesthouse, completing the dual-purpose vision of a shared family refuge and working sanctuary space.
Nonprofit Rescue Operations
Operating now as a designated nonprofit animal rescue, the Catskills site functions as a long-term home and protective environment for animals that have been taken in from vulnerable situations.
While continuing to serve as a private domestic retreat, the property now permanently dedicates its pastures, shelters, and grounds to supporting its rescued animal population, integrating ongoing animal welfare operations directly into the upstate New York farm.
